NEW DELHI: OnePlus is one of the smartphone brands that takes software updates quite seriously. The company has already rolled out Android 11 update for its OnePlus 8, OnePlus 7 smartphone series and OnePlus Nord. However, it appears that the company is facing some delay with the Android 11 update for the OnePlus 6 series.
The company has announced that the Android 11 beta for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T will begin in late August this year. The company made the announcement on its official forum. The company posted, “The Android 11 Open Beta version for the OnePlus 6 & 6T is scheduled to be released at the end of August, please stay tuned for our Community posts for more details.”
It is interesting to note that around the same time the stable version of Android 12 is expected to launch. This means that the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T will get Android 11 update after the launch of Android 12.
It is expected that both smartphones will get a stable Android 11 update by the end of 2021 or by early 2022. OnePlus 6 has already received two major software updates. The smartphone was launched with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and it received Android 9.0 Pie and Android 10 updates.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 6T was launched with Android 9.0 Pie and Android 11 will be the second major software update for the smartphone.
Recently, OnePlus launched a new accessory for gamers in the form of triggers. These triggers can be used to play first-person shooter games. Coming at a price of Rs 1,099, the triggers work with both Android phones and iPhones.
